Preselecting Page Layout in the Create Page screen

Did you know that you can preselect a Page Layout in the Create Page screen? To preselect a layout simply add LayoutName=YourLayout.aspx to the query string parameters:

This becomes extremely useful when you want to create for example a shortcut in the Site Actions menu so that the content editors can quickly add press releases from any location on the Site Collection.

Using the LayoutName parameter preselects the chosen Page Layout what simplifies the process of creating new Publishing Pages:
