#25 The easiest way to be a part of the community

Say ‘Thank you’. When you used someone else’s code sample, say ‘thank you’. When a blog post someone wrote helped you, say ‘thank you’. When a video you watched unblocked you, say ‘thank you’.

Gratitude binds us. If you’re new to a community and are not yet confident enough to create and share the content yourself, start by thanking others for their effort. Acknowledge their work and say what you found helpful because what helped you will likely help others.

Gratitude creates goodwill and goodwill creates more goodwill. There is no easier way to become a part of a community than recognizing others and saying ‘thank you’.
