Presenting at Microsoft Ignite 2017

Interested in the SharePoint Framework? Join me at Microsoft Ignite 2017! I’ll have the pleasure and honor of co-presenting two sessions about the SharePoint Framework.

Update Sep 21: For personal reasons I won’t be joining Ignite after all. Nevertheless, the sessions I mention below go on as planned as I was just one of the speakers.

Office 365 Platform: Learn to build enterprise-ready apps with Microsoft Graph, SharePoint and Teams (PRE09)

Start off a great week at Microsoft Ignite - jump in and learn how to build applications with the latest features in Office 365. Roll up your sleeves for some hands-on time working with what’s new for developers on the Office 365 platform. We’ll have members of the Office product teams and MVPs show you new ways to design and build secure, modern, intelligent productivity solutions. Complete modular challenges for an opportunity to win prizes – oh, and we’ll have some great swag too.

Office 365 offers rich developer capabilities. There is Teams for collaboration with its new extensibility capabilities, there is Microsoft Graph for tapping into the data and insights from all across Office 365 and there is SharePoint with its powerful customization capabilities - to name a few. Office 365 evolves rapidly. In fact, things change so fast, that it’s sometimes hard to keep up. While this pre-day training is not free, it offers you a great deal for your money. During this day, you will learn hands-on how to benefit of the latest developer opportunities in Office 365. And don’t forget to bring your questions too, as you will have a unique opportunity to get the answers directly from people involved with designing these capabilities. I’ll be there as well, helping out where possible with all things related to the SharePoint Framework.

Building the modern SharePoint experience: Best practices from Microsoft for developing with SPFx (BRK4031)

With the SharePoint Framework, you can incorporate modern developer techniques to create fast, responsive components. Building on lessons from developing out-of-the-box components, in this session, we go under the hood to explore details of modern SharePoint client-side development tools to not only manage your developer environment but also give you an edge in building optimized and performant web parts and extensions. We also show how you can streamline deployment with SharePoint CDN facilities to strike the optimal mix of flexibility and performance for your projects.

SharePoint Framework is a latest addition to the customization capabilities for SharePoint both online and on-premises. If you’re new to it, there will be other sessions throughout the week that will help you get started with the SharePoint Framework. Chaks and I will focus instead on helping you get the most out of the latest features of the SharePoint Framework. If you are a SharePoint developer, this is a session you can’t miss. It’s a 400-level session, so you can expect deep-dive content. No HelloWorld samples here.

One more thing

These two sessions are not the only thing I’ll be doing during Ignite. We have some more things planned at the Rencore booth #1645 so be sure to stop by and say hi, and if you have any questions, you’re most likely to find me there too.
